Recently, it has come to the attention of the world that Nigerians are doing more than just going to some random outlet to have a pizza, they’re having it flown in their country via Britain!

Yeah, apparently this is the newest trend among the Nigerians to show that they’re rich and eat overseas food, pretty weird way, right?
Nigeria Has Pizza Hut and other Chains.
All the Pizza hub chains are available in Nigeria and even the rich who are getting pizzas from Britain are ordering them from the same outlets they have in their own country.
When Do The Pizzas arrive?
According to sources, the Nigerians are ordering Pizzas from England, flying them back to Nigeria on British Airways, and accepting the delivery the very next day.
Foreign Import Looks Charming.
The 4000-mile and an overnight flight seem like the status symbol we’re talking about. This might be their way to show trivial wealth as we can grasp.
The Nigerian Agricultural Minister is Concerned.

Audu Ogbeh, Nigeria’s minister of agriculture raised this issue in the parliament and said he was not a fan of this.
“Do you know, sir, that there are Nigerians who use their cellphones to import pizza from London? [They] buy in London, they bring it on British Airways in the morning to pick up at the airport.”
Ogbeh condemned this move by his fellow Nigerians and said it was pointless for them to do this and this hurts the nation as well in ways they can’t think of.
“It is a very annoying situation, and we have to move a lot faster in cutting down some of these things.”
He says it hurts the farmers on the country!
This act of status symbolism by the rich is hurting the farmers as they totally rely on the local consumption of the food they produce and importing what is already available in the country just for status isn’t either mature or good for the country itself.
