33-years-old Eric White was once a homeless man who had to survive on the streets. These days he is the owner of a company he created called Zydeco Construction which specializes in designing and building custom made beach houses for their clients right in their backyards!

Growing Up, Eric Had Nothing

Things were not always this good in Eric’s life. His childhood and most of his early adult days were riddled with struggles which he had to face alone.

As A Teenager, Eric Went Homeless For A Brief Period Of Time

Eric shares-

I have a story to share that is pretty inspirational I was homeless at 15 for about eight months of my life, I had dropped out of school in the ninth grade and only had a second-grade reading skill. I could hardly even spell my name.”

But He Had A Passion- Construction

“Construction was something I always understood; I knew if I worked at it, I could really do something with it.”

He Had To Work Multiple Low Income Jobs Just To Stay Afloat But He Never Gave Up

“I started working as a helper for a local construction company, doing what I could do to make a dollar and doing what I could to feed my daughter. From there I found a job working as a mechanic for a Ford dealership, but that wasn’t really for me. My dad told me about another construction company hiring in Baton Rouge that was paying $12 an hour and I took that opportunity.”

Eric’s Stint At The Ford Dealership Made Him Realise Something: Construction Was His True Calling!

He joined the construction company his dad told him about and within six months, he was managing a team of his own. He then formed his own company called Cool Pools which was his first success as a business owner. He sold Cool Pools for a million dollars last year.

Now Eric Finally Had The Resources To Build His Vision Which Is Why He Formed Zydeco Constructions

“It’s something that for years I would think to myself, ‘what if someone could figure out a way to turn a pond into a paradise?’ I wanted to be able to provide this service and wanted to be the first to do so. I did as much research as I could and applied it to building these ponds.”

Eric describes what they do at Zydeco Constructions-

“Each pond that we do is customized for that area and for the customer. It isn’t something that can be done in a day, they are a true labour of love and I want every customer that comes to me to be happy. We will do something different on every pond we create.

From homeless to a millionaire with his own company, Eric White is truly an inspiration to everyone!
